Kodak EASYSHARE DX7590DCResource have posted their review of the 5 megapixel, 10x optical zoom Kodak EASYSHARE DX7590 digital camera.

“Although not what I’d call “excellent”, the DX7590’s photo quality is very good overall. My test photos were well-exposed with saturated (and accurate) colors. Images are on the soft side, though, and details like grass and leaves seem “overprocessed” and fuzzy (which has been the case with recent Kodak cameras). If you’re making prints 8 x 10 inches and smaller this isn’t an issue. Any larger than that, or if you like viewing images on your computer screen at 100% then you will notice. Purple fringing showed up a few times (it tends to be worst than average on ultra zoom cameras) but I wouldn’t consider it a problem.”

Konica Minolta DiMAGE X31Steves Imaging Resource have just reviewed the Konica Minolta DiMAGE X31, a stylish new 3.2-megapixel compact digicam that is easy-to-use and affordable.

“The Minolta DiMAGE X31 is one of the latest in Minolta’s line of subcompact DiMAGE X models, using a unique “folded” lens design to achieve a remarkably compact form factor and very fast startup times. Minolta really turned heads when they introduced the original DiMAGE X, now nearly three years ago. A two-megapixel camera in the form of a square block of metal, just barely over three-quarters of an inch thick, the DiMAGE X was an immediate hit, as popular as a fashion statement as it was for its status as a go-anywhere, shoot-anytime digital camera. The X20 was the first affordable version of this popular camera, reducing the price by enclosing the same mechanism in a plastic body. While the metal versions of the X-series have gone as high as 5 megapixel, the X31 is the first resolution bump at the low end, now to 3.2 megapixels.”

Sony CyberShot DSC-F828Photobird.com have posted their review of the 8-megapixel Sony CyberShot DSC-F828 digital camera.

“The 7x zoom lens on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F828 stands out as one of the best features of this digital camera. It has a natural feel to be able to zoom in and out by turning the zoom ring around the lens. Comparatively, other digital cameras with zoom lenses require the user to press a rocker switch that must operate a motor, and the starting and stopping of the motor can introduce delays in getting the right shot.”

Canon PowerShot A95DCResource are the first website to post a review of what is sure to be a popular camera, the 5 megapixel Canon PowerShot A95:

“The PowerShot A95 is a worthy follow-up to the extremely popular A80. There wasn’t much that needed improvement on the A80, and admittedly some of the changes are pretty unexciting. The most important changes are the higher resolution CCD and larger/sharper LCD display. So what I’m saying is that the A95 is even better than an already great camera.”

Philips' Wearable Digital CameraEngadget have reviewed the tiny Philips’ Wearable Digital Camera, which retails for $117 on Amazon for the 128Mb version.

“We picked up the Philips Wearable Digital Camera mainly to take apart and make some cool hack projects with, as its strong and compact casing makes it ideal for that kind of thing. But as we used it more and more we discovered this is a handy camera to keep attached to your keyring so that you?ll always have with it you. With one hand and one motion you can take pictures in some places where whipping out that 6 megapixel monster or even a cameraphone isn?t appropriate. The camera doesn?t do that well in low light conditions and doesn?t have a flash, so the best pictures will likely be outdoors.”

Ricoh Caplio GXSteves Digicams have published their review of the 5 megapixel Ricoh Caplio GX digital camera.

“The Caplio GX did not live up to Ricoh’s claim of professional image quality; its results were more in line with consumer digicams. JPG artifacts were present, and noise was noticeable at ISO 200, and objectionable at ISO 800 and 1600. While the higher ISO settings produced poor image quality, you’ll appreciate them when it makes the difference between capturing the shot and not. Aside from image noise and artifacts, the camera produced well-exposed and richly saturated shots both indoors and out.”

Sony DSC-P93DigitalCameraInfo have reviewed the brand new Sony DSC-P93, a 5-megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom.

“The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P93 is one of the few digital cameras we’ve tested that has a mean saturation score lower than 100%. Most digital cameras on the market today (point-and-shoot and dSLR) tend to over saturate tones to produce more vibrant colors. The Sony DSC-P93 has a mean saturation score of 97.34%, and as you can see from the graph there are quite a few colors that are under saturated particularly in the blues and into the greens. Colors 9 and 15 are consistently over saturated in all the digital cameras we have tested, which is purposefully done to create rich skin tones.”

Jendigital JD 6.0 z3Jenoptik aren’t exactly one of the better-known digital camera manufacturers, so you would think that they would make a lot of noise about their new 6 megapixel models.
