Lexar Image Rescue 4 is a brand new version of Lexar’s popular image recovery software. Image Rescue 4 enables photographers to recover most lost or deleted images and videos from any memory card form factor, from any manufacturer, and is compatible with all mass storage-compliant card readers.

New features include an easy-to-manage one-step recovery interface, automatic updates to ensure the software’s compatibility with new RAW images and operating systems, and expanded language support. Athentech Imaging today announced the release of a Windows version of a Photoshop plug-in of its patented Perfectly Clear image correction technology. This plug-in delivers one-click photo correction automatically. The application works on both 8 bit and 16 bit images within Photoshop, the company said. The official introduction of Perfectly Clear Photoshop Plug-in is taking place at the PhotoPlus International Conference & Expo, Oct. 22-24 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. Ichikawa Soft Laboratory has published a new release candidate version of Silkypix with support for cameras with Foveon x3 sensors. Canon has announced its free Easy Photo-Print App, which is now available on the App store. The Canon Easy Photo-Print App enables wireless photo printing from your iPhone or iPod touch to a compatible Canon PIXMA printer via a wireless network with a few taps. Athentech today announced that Apple has approved v1.2 of its Perfectly Clear image correction application for its iPhone / iPod Touch devices. Perfectly Clear iPhone v1.2 allows users to capture and correct images taken with their Apple devices and now save out their corrected images at full resolution (1600x1200 for 3G and 1536x2048 for 3GS) – unless the photos were imported by iTunes, which resizes them. Perfectly Clear assures that the millions of photos being taken by iPhone and iPod users can be optimised for exposure, colour accuracy, sharpness and depth all with a single touch, the company said. This upgrade is available free of charge from the Apple iTunes App Store to anybody who bought an earlier version of the application.  For new purchasers, the price is $2.99.

onOne Software has launched version 1.2 of DSLR Camera Remote Server, their server-side application that allows you to remotely control your DSLR using an iPhone or iPod Touch. The new version adds support for the Nikon D300s, improves on the permissions detection and warning on Mac OS X, and fixes a number of issues with the Canon EOS 500D and Nikon D300 cameras. Note that DSLR Remote Server is the application that runs on your PC or Mac, to which the camera is connected. It’s not the app that runs on the iPhone or iPod Touch itself. DSLR Remote Server 1.2 is compatible with version 1.1 of the iPhone/iPod app.

Iridient Digital have released RAW Developer 1.8.6, which brings support for nine new camera models. These include the Nikon D300s (review), the Canon 7D, G11 and S90, the Sony DSLR-A850, DSLR-A550 and DSLR-A500, the Panasonic DMC-GF1 (review) and the Leica M9. Improvements to the default ICC camera profiles for the Canon 50D and Nikon D300 have also been made.

Adobe has released the new, free Photoshop.com Mobile for iPhone application. Photoshop.com Mobile provides consumers a convenient way to edit photos, apply effects and share images instantly with friends - all with the flick of a finger. Seamless integration with users’ free Photoshop.com accounts enables photo sharing and data back-up, saving them valuable space on their iPhones. Engelmann’s recently launched Photomizer software has just been updated to incorporate HDRi simulation using a single source image. Photomizer is a program that offers one-click automated image optimisation via clever algorithms that can intelligently recognise which parts and aspects of a photograph require adjustments.
