Magnum Photos & IdeasTap Announce ‘IdeasTap Inspires’ An Exceptional Nationwide Arts Training Programme

Magnum Photos are delighted to be extending a five year relationship with its educational partners IdeasTap, through the delivery of free nationwide ‘Professional Practice’ training courses for photographers.

Conceived as a response to the constantly changing nature of the photography market, Professional Practice is a two-day masterclass hosted by renowned international agency Magnum Photos which delivers practical guidance on the business of photography. Aimed at early practitioners, it provides photographers with impartial industry knowledge and a unique opportunity to begin establishing a professional network of peers and industry contacts.

Through a diverse series of lectures presented by the UK’s leading visual arts experts, Professional Practice highlights paid opportunities from a wide variety of sectors including advertising & corporate, editorial, gallery, NGO, museum, publishing and rights management.

A second day focusing on Portfolio Reviews will provide photographers with an opportunity to have an honest and constructive critique of their work, by two of our industry specialists. In their professional capacities, our experts routinely work with photographers; commissioning, selecting, editing and purchasing images and are perfectly placed to provide impartial feedback.

Magnum Photos and IdeasTap are proud to be organising three Professional Practice events in London & Birmingham between now and April 2015.

The first London event begins Saturday 15th – Sunday 16th March, hosted at The Magnum Print Room, 63 Gee Street, To express interest in future Professional Practice events email [email protected]
